I agree, and I reached out to a friend in law enforcement, in that exact department and I was told nothing will come of the text unless your a pimp Originally Posted by Mata Leon

I think people are overreacting in terms of how far the cops will go in this case. I think they were only interested in busting the pimp and getting some media attention. I also find really hard to believe that college educated girls will be intimidated by this guy.

My only regret is not having seen any of the girls in there. Some of them were really hot. It's hard to find that kind of talent around.

Yes, but it's not over. There will be plea deals. Time to pull back until the dust settles. Have fun and be safe. Originally Posted by Passion2015

That being said RICO wouldn't apply to a monger and it could only apply to the pimp IF he was a part of an organized crime syndicate and the Mann Act applies to the transport of girls across state lines for the purposes of sexual acts or for slavery. I understand you're trying to keep things in prospective but it seems more fear mongering than precaution. Originally Posted by illuminati

However, if they decide to fuck with you, they can and do pull all sorts of shit. The rule of law no longer applies in the good old USA.

Unfortunately, they are successfully using RICO against people who have nothing to do with "mob" activity. All they need is two people and two crimes of certain types to claim RICO. They seize your assets and get to keep them unless you take them to court. It costs thousands of dollars, takes years, and defendants often lose even if they're never charged with a crime.

They have used RICO in many ridiculous cases. For instance, they used RICO on an independent couple running a small business out of their home who bought US legal satellite receivers and shipped them to Canada.

As for Mann act, the mere act of sending an e-mail to an out of state lady and making an appointment for her next trip to your town can get you charged. Even if you yourself didn't solicit, they can claim you're an accessory.

BTW, the Mann act has nothing to do with slavery. "White slavery" was a buzzword used for scare tactics about prostitution and got plastered over all kinds of things that had nothing to do with slavery.
