Has anyone been to any of these restaurants?

1. Cha Chas on Bandera rd. Hands down the best Margarita you will ever have and the best cheese enchiladas.

2. La Fogata. close 2nd on the Margaritas. Food and atmosphere are the best.

3. La Cabana in Cibolo. Crazy daily specials and the best chips n salsa.

The day I see Taco Bell in Mexico is the day I know I've died and gone to Hell!!

However, I do have a friend from Mexico that visits me in SA from time to time. Her dining out requests . . . Chinese, steak, and Taco Bell . . . never will I be able to wrap my mind around that last request!!
Pico de gallos, is my favorite , it's the same as margaritas and mi tierras , only way better and less touristy , also better and easier parking. Just my 2 penny's. I miss El chicos in Windsor park. El tipico used to be good , not sure anymore.

Pico de Gallo, west of downtown imo has gotten too touristy and overpriced.
Five dollars for a taco?
I like going to Salsas or Panchito's now and then.
Both make a great picadillo plate.
Salsa's makes a great tasting Fideo Loco.
Fideo, picadillo and frijoles.
Yummy.
I'm also a big lover of menudo, but preferably with a pigs foot added, just don't like it with too much chili.

Mi Tierra, meh. La Fonda on Main is good, as is SoLuna. Joe T Garcia's--nothing special. Best on the list is La Fonda San Miguel in Austin. And locally, I agree with Dr. Grey on La Fogata
I also like La Paloma Blanca on Broadway, but they did change their menu some and have not been in a while but I did like their potent margaritas.

I used to go to Rosario's when I worked downtown SA but that was many years ago, so I do not know if it is still any good? They also have a new location I have never been to.

La Gloria at Pearl... great traditional Mexican.
Los Generales...1604@Nacogdoches
Rosarios...San Pedro
Brown's...south SA on Hackberry.... my fav!
I have been to Avila's and Joe T Garcia's in DFW. Avila's is excellent, Joe T Garcia's is pretty good but there are better places for sure. When I travel home to Ft Worth, I always make it a point to go to Campo Verde and Mexican Inn. Originally Posted by thrakattack82

Joe T's is a classic too, BUT.....if you go during the week for lunch, the menu is bigger. They offer more for lunch then dinners on weekends. It was explained b/c they get so busy they just can't handle a bigger menu, so it's limited. But, amazing margaritas! NExt time you're back you should go to Esparza's in Grapevine :P

I found TAco Garage in SA last time I was there, REALLY good! I just happened to find it on yelp, and was impressed!

Try Nichas. They have a location off 35 N and Pat Booker, but the original on the south side is the best. Best Carne Guisada in town in my opinion.
I can't believe my eyes, I just lost respect for so many of y'all.

Best enchiladas,beans, rice: Mexican Manhattan
Best taqueria: Taqueria Mexico on somerset
Best Tex-mex tourist restraunt: Mi Tierra
Best bang for buck tacos: tink-a-taco near Ingram mall

I also love this taqueria that when I grew up was a Pizza Hut but has had a half dozen names over the years, same management and staff, best eggs a la mexicana, on south side outside lackland/Kelly gates.
