I used to help a couple three friends with screening and to a much lesser extent with scheduling. These were buddies (which is reflected in my nym) who did not have 'Net access. They used to joke about buying me a purple fur hat. But I was very much an employee, who got a small commission for each referral that turned into a sale.

A *very* small commission (40%? WTH? I was *way* underpricing my services...)

But no, if I am aware of management as opposed to staff, it's a big turnoff.
