GFE Monkey Stole My Info

Recently saw my "profile" on GFE Monkey as well and I know damn well I didn't put it there. Sucks that they can get away with doing that. Better get my email fingers ready.

It's literally worthwhile to google your names, handles on a regular basis to keep on top of this. The crawler bots will grab/steal use all public content and sell/reuse. At least on Eccie you can make your profile only visible to registered members so there is some damage control. But anything public domain will be taken and used against you.

That said, if you know it's gonna get stolen, make it worthy of the theft: quality photos, links to your "inside" information and data, cogent and quality words and descriptions. Originally Posted by ck1942

The other side of that as well, is when you get these sites you have no control over and won't respond to your requests to take your info down, the idea of it still being up there long after you stop providing.

But, as you said, once you're online, you're out there; so yes, it is one of the "risks" we must accept if we choose this work.

Regarding photos - best defense is a solid offense. Put up a "wall," so to speak, by watermarking your photos with your contact data -- or if you really want to drive the photo "scrapers" get a website and watermark your photos in such a way that the scrapers get to advertise it for you.

Yes they set up an account for me as well... Mine was taken directly from cityvibe.. (I only found out about the gfemonkey site due to someone contacting me from it) I only posted once on cityvibe to see if it was worth advertising on... It's not lol! So they will take your info from anywhere..
So when the guys wonder why we do not show face pics... Case and point, we have no control of the Internet. Yes we can remove our ads that we placed, but when people steal your photos and ads to build up their directory and you have no access to change or edit the info it makes for an unreliable site.
Most of us do not all do this full time, nor do we plan on doing it forever, so having identifiable photos that someone stole of you will never end up good..
Do not want your kids finding them 20 years later..
That's exactly how I found mine.
Yes I have seen all of y'all on gre monkey. I am also a member and hooked up with girls from there.
