weight loss?

GeminiGuy, I'm currently using only Whey protein (ISOPURE)...was just reading about Casein protein. I'm going to add this at night.

Which Brand do you like? Originally Posted by alaine

Simply have about 6-8 oz at bedtime.
The MIO works great for flavoring this as well.

But Casin is normally not as important unless your a dedicated lifter.
Casin advantage is it is Slow digesting.
So what happens is you get a slow release of protein to feed the muscle s as you sleep.

Just drink your whey right before bed or have your Greek yougurt. You will be fine. Or a. Chicken breast your body has to digest.

Hcg +500 cpl a day diet is Bullshit
That is a starvation diet and you lean muscle will be lost.
Your weight will drop yes but it will be your hard earned and needed muscle.

Your brain functions on amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of all protein.
Your body cannot convert other nutrients into protien.
Unlike it can with carbs to sugars for energy or fats for energy.
If you do not consume enough protein your brain will take it from your muscle. No protien/amino acids your brain does not function properly.

So here it is.
Protien every 3 hrs. 30 grams. Your body cannot use more than that. Anything more will be wasted.

Use a combination of
Boiled chicken breast
Boiled eggs. The whites only.
98% fat free turkey.
Center cut pork chops
Scrambled egg whites.
And Protien powder.
Shoot for 1 can of low sodium black beans for fiber and good carbs. But rinse all excess salt off.

1 thing to note is high protein diets are tough on kidneys and bowel movements. Do up your water till you are downing s gallon of water a day.
If your not pissing every 30 min you are dehydrated
Good info Phoenix. Sounds like what I have been reading is pretty accurate. That is a lot of my program to the T. I log 15 hours a week in the gym and have found that proper eating and rest are very important.
AmericanHardwood's Avatar
15 hours is quite a lot.
I go pretty hard and only log around 12
2 hrs solid 6 days a week
Chest/Bi
Back/Tri
Shoulder/Leggs
Repeat
15 min on star master after heavy weights
Blood sugars are bottomed out and it's instant fat burning with no glycogen in the blood to use as fuel

Baby carrots work for me. That or half of a watermelon. The military diet didn't work for me when I was trying to lose weight, but I'm glad to hear it works for others.

CORRECT your muscles that you want to save from wasting

Your Body cannot store, save, or convert protein into other nutrients like it can with fats and carbs.

You can use 30 grams of protein per every 3 hrs. The rest is waste. Yes shit.
It will be processed and what's not utilized will be eliminated.

Adkins diet had a great Base but the problem was he advocated any kinds of meat including all the bacon you want.

Think Adkins but with only clean proteins.
Chicken. Boiled no skin
Fish
Egg whites
Whey
Shoot for 30 grams every 3 hrs
And around 25-30 grams of fiber a day with carbs bring under 100 grams.
Eliminate sugar
You will be so full you will hate food.
Don't dispare. Stay the course.
You will be shocked at the Results
Cardio ?
Beginners. Treadmill 4. Mph at incline of 7 for 30 minutes first thing in the morning before any food. Black Coffee ok.
This is when normally your blood sugars are at the lowest after an all night fast while you sleep

Good Luck.
Carrots and watermelon ? Taste good because they are full of sugar.
Oh you say it's natural ?
The only difference between that and white sugar is nutritional content.
Sugar has 0 nutritional value
Keep in mind
Sucrose or Fruittose both convert to Glucose
Which is blood sugar
Stay away from fruit except 1 apple a day and sweet veggies.
You want fiberous veggies only.

You are aware that there are vegan bodybuilders and vegan pro athletes out there, right?

It can be done, it just isn't as simple as adding the meat in is. If you're short on time to research and properly prep meals, then yeah-- vegan may not be the best method. But it does work for many people.

Interesting
Name one
Mr Universe
Or
Olympian that was Vegan

Vegan are skinny yes but a fat skinny
Vegetarian does not make you healthier it limits your choices and you end up consuming more sugars and carbs.
Yes it's a life style choice and I respect that.
But keep in mind no one here asked for advise on Vegetarian weight loss.
If that was the case I would suggest Humana Pro. Protien mix. It's the highest quality you can buy. And even I use it 2 x a day.

Nobody asked about any "type" of weight loss. You decided to say something against a vegan diet, so I responded. There are ways to properly do a whole foods plant based diet that don't involve extra sugars. However.. in the particular context of this thread.. probably not the best approach as it takes research and a higher level of dedication.

Also-- there are a lot of fat vegans out there too. They rely heavily on the processed "vegan" versions of meat... and they eat a LOT of junk. I don't really follow a "vegan" philosophy as much as I follow a whole foods, plant based philosophy.

Sorry but the Guys you listed are not Mr Olympians or Mr Universe

The Mr. Olympia was created in 1965 by the late and great Joe Weider to determine who was the greatest bodybuilder on the planet. Since that inaugural year, a total of only 13 bodybuilders have won the coveted Sandow trophy and earned the title of Mr. Olympia. Two of those bodybuilders, Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman, co-hold the record for the most victories at eight a piece. And, only one of those 13 bodybuilders, Jay Cutler, was able to regain the title after losing it.

The following is a list of every winner of the Mr. Olympia contest.

Oh I'm sorry-- I didn't realize that the only bodybuilders were those who have won those two competitions. I guess that means you aren't one either?

By the way-- one of those men listed in your list has gone vegan recently and is helping to campaign for a more plant based approach to bodybuilding and fitness.
AmericanHardwood's Avatar
No I am not one. :-(
But at close to 50 I'm still one of the best built guys in the gym and benching over 350
And trust me. If I do not get enough Protien my strength is effected
So vegan is not a path for me.
Eggs Chicken. Fish. Pork Red meat 2x per week
Tons of whey protein
Grace Preston's Avatar
Whey protein I can support.. just stay the hell away from the Casein... there are some seriously strong links between increased casein and several forms of cancer.

I honestly feel its easier to be a fit vegan for females than it is for men. Part of that is genetic, part of that is the calories required for muscle gain.

If you're nourished through real, clean food, you won't have those cravings and the pounds should peel right off. Exercise, of course. Cut out the processed stuff, you'll see results.

I find it funny how people can't read...He said he already knows how to cut the weight, he needs to know how to curb the late night hunger issues...Boltfan, gave the sound advice, drink water. Even a couple of glasses 30 mins before a meal can suppress the appetite somewhat before the meal (but that's not what you asked about) ...Keep in mind, it's a real good thing when you have the late night hunger, means the metabolism mechanism is firing from working out.
