"Nurse" is a very broad term. I believe there are a number of tiers to the profession and some categories of nurses are very highly trained and can make technically advanced decisions. The upper levels of the nursing profession are pretty well compensated. At the other end, there are nursing assistants and home health-care aids, who have lower educational requirements and much lower compensation. Originally Posted by brasil

These nurses typically make between 28 and 32 dollars an hour. Using $30 as a standard, they're pulling a little better than $62,000 in a conventional 40 hour a week scenario.

Essentially 100% of nurses work overtime hours and as non-overtime exempt worker bees, they get paid time and a half for those hours. Assume 10 hours of overtime a week. The nurse is going to earn an additional 23k and change.

That's $85,000 a year, and that's in no way extraordinary. Add health insurance and all the other bennies they receive for being legitimate members of the workforce and you have a living wage right there. This is for an individual with an associate's degree.

I'm sure Paul knows, down to the nickel, what an upstate NY hook makes, and I'd imagine he'll say it's more than that. BULLSHIT IT IS.

If you're a hook with a Master's degree and you can't make more money with your education than you can wth your pussy, your Master's degree is in the wrong discipline.

Next, teaching is easy??? You are not only uneducated about the profession, but have not spent 20 minutes in a classroom...as a highly - educated professional. Please, if you are going to degrade people, have some insight first, or better yet, actual experience for the ones you are trying to trounce on...that just may include the "legion of hooks" as you so eloquently put it. I'm not going to overly self-disclose here.

I do have colleagues who "teach". By teach, I mean instruct summer classes in the SUNY system to make some extra bank.

A lot of the students in summer classes are standard juvenile delinquents as well as motivated students who want to move their education along or who take classes which are pre-requisite courses for other classes which are required in the student's intended course of study. Quite often these are mathematics classes. These are the classes my colleague teaches.

In addition to kids, he occasionally teaches students who are teachers themselves, typically at the high-school level. What these teachers are trying to do is to qualify as mathematics teachers in their local school district.

My colleague was making fun of these folks one day. In addition to standard claims of intellectual superiority (arrogant but still valid) he was going on about what a teacher had to achieve academically to qualify as a high-school math teacher.

It was a grade of B in both pre-Calculus and Calculus I. That's it, the whole shebang right there.

These are the "professionals" who are teaching your children. They get summers off, they get holidays off, they qualify for all kinds of ancillary benefits, and like nurses they make a living wage.

This is a far better job than hooker, as well.

Bachelor's Degree and two semesters of mathematics that most practicing alcoholic, distracted 19 year old kids could breeze through.

LOL too funny, the money is this business can Far exceed a masters if run right, a masters paying out 100,000+ working less hours working an adult job.

Sex sells. You seem way out of touch on how much adult work can make for minimal hours... You think we all grew up wanting to work 50+ hours a week so less time with family or hobbies/things we enjoy? LOL. Having to work 50+ hours a week for someone else is being a wage slave...

Average legit escort makes $5000-$8000+ a month(certainly ones I know) working half the hours of the engineer, the dentist, the nurse, etc. They make their Own money, not making money for someone else confined to their rules, business hours, etc.

The IRS does have a tax bracket for hooks as well.

Also just noting the average waitress makes $28-$32 per hour... Many restaurants offer 401 and health care too.

I was on my way to an appointment the other night, texting one of my best friends. Told him I was doing a HH, which I get $150 for. He said "Damn. I only make $85/hour. If I was a girl I'd be such a whore."

He graduated law school and is licensed to practice law in his state, though he is currently a VP for a finance company in a major city. Some food for thought.

All that you say about the pay is true Elle, and it never ceases to amaze me that at the rates that escorts earn cash, so many still can't seem to buy a car, keep their phone in working order, pay the rent etc. Nobody can burn through cash like a young lady it seems.

The best providers are those who actually like sex and are good at fucking.. like Ellie said.

Look at all the star athletes and celebrities who blow millions of their money and are broke because of bad habits and most of all a lack of financial responsibility.

But it does kill me to see and hear from the "hooks" who don't have a pot to piss in...talk about getting their next "tat" or some other kind of wasteful shit!

Okay..enough from me! ( I do have to get over to Ellie's place and let her play with MY tool someday!
