everyone has opinions on what they like but accorlding to 'masses of people', the only one that can hang with the legends of Texas bbq [The Salt Lick Driftwood Tx southwest of Austin, Kreuz Market and Blacks in Lockhart] is Augies barbed wire smokehouse by the San Antonio zoo. But for the best bbq in all of Texas [Texas Monthly perrennial champs] is Snows BBQ in Lexington, Tx northwest of Bastrop. Of course youre no where near Austin so Augies is the local unknown best to masses of people. Augies beat Salt Lick in a multi panel blind taste test years ago when final four were in SA. Thats very serious.

Damn boyz & Girls.. I am hungry!!! Anyone been to a place called "Smoke" they have 2 locations, Stone Oak area & Downtown...I have not been.

Drive up 10 to Leon Springs and the original Rudy's. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The Saltlick in Driftwood, it's about an hour and Half drive but it is really good.

I always say the best meal is home-cooked. Obviously too many places to try and compare.
