Corkscrew is over hyped and over rated and over priced. It's good but it ain't that good.
Kings bbq in La Porte at Pasadena and Underwood. is pretty damn tasty if you're down in these parts
Stockyard on Westheimer. It's not the best at all but accessible and has parking space. Sorry but Houston has lousy, lousy barbecue. Go to Dallas for the best barbecue in Texas. BTW, barbecue in Texas is mostly overrated compared to real southern barbecue in the original southeast that makes better sauces. Pork is far superior than beef for the best barbecue recipes.
I must say Wolfie, aka wolf whistle I am a fan of you. You keep this shit entertaining and when you are not here you are missed
This thread reminded me of a work trip that lead to a lunch at Killen's BBQ in Pearland. I've eaten a lot of BBQ,not yet at Franklin's but I'll get there soon, and Killen's was by far the best I've ever had. The brisket was the highlight of my three meat plate. Line was long but manageable; met some nice people; the restaurant passed out free beer while you wait in line. Great meal!

I see a lot of places on here that I haven't been to and need to try out. I also see some places I've been and I'm surprised someone would nominate them for great BBQ.

My votes goes to Lyndon's Pit BBQ....

^^^^ I'm not sure about the newer location. but back in the day at the first strip mall spot, that place was consistently good.

My only complaint was the fuckin line out the door.
www.roegelsbarbecue.com/ It's on Voss south of San Felipe. Next to the old Bramble which will soon be Killen's new restaurant. STQ.

And a +1 to the recommendation by Racegear20 for Brisket House
