I used to tell my people the only excused absence was a death in the family and it better be their own. I know that's harsh but even with your priest or your mother sitting in your livingroom, I can't see why you can't excuse yourself to the restroom and text or call the other party. Stuff happens and we all know that, but with everyone having a cell these days, I can think one would have to be either dead or in a coma not to be able to respond in a timely manner.
