I always changed my money at the Colonial Casino, next door to the Del Rey, and never had a problem, nor was ever charged. I paid for many sessions thanks to the winnings on the craps table at the Colonial.
Stay away from the street 'girls'. They may not be 'girls' or they may be actual girls and under 18. Some of the street girls may be banned from the clubs.
How about some updated information. When I went, I always stayed at the Presidente in a jacuzzi suit, and never had a problem bringing up chicas. On my last visit, they were real picky about the chicas not looking like hookers and wouldn't let some in the hotel. I last heard no hookers were allowed at the Presidente. Is this still true? I still remember myself and two buddies plus three chicas playing 'pass the chica' in the jacuzzi on the top floor for a lot of foreplay. You had to reserve the jacuzzi and it had locked doors for privacy. What we would do is two of us would reserve the jacuzzi for two consecutive hours.
Also, back in around 2007 the Sportsman was the place to stay, has the Sportsman gone that far down hill to where it's a rat trap?

Jaco is on the beach. The girls are hotter but don't expect bargains there and the daytime play is limited. But if you want to party and bang hot chics it is a good option. I myself prefer to stay at Hotel La Amistad in San Jose and I bang 2 or 3 massage parlor girls every day for about 30 bucks each. Then I spend the evening either drinking beer at the hotel or The Pirates Club.

It seems like it was a quick flight over the mountains, maybe like 15-30 minutes air time. This may have changed over the years with better roads, but I would need one of the guys who've been on that road to comment. It's just a quick thought.
