I used to eat at Las cazuelas on e cesar chavez. Taqueria Arandas on burnet, Taqueria jaliences on airport, pho please on riverside, burger tex on airport, bun belly on airport, casino Camino on 6th, trudys on guadalupe, soup peddler on airport, verts all over the place...and several others I forget.

For steak, my favourites include:

Capital Grille, especially during the generous pour event when you can try 6 wines for $28.

Austin Land and Cattle. (not Texas Land and Cattle)

Vince Young Steakhouse. Puts all the others in Austin (including Ruth's and Austin Land & Cattle -- not to be confused with Texas Land & Cattle) to shame. BTW, the namesake has not been associated with this place for some time.

That one is owned by Matress Mac's daughter, fwiw.
