Obviously, a touchy subject!
Jinny (and OP, if you're still around),
A couple of questions from your perspective:
1). You mentioned you do a 'tiny' bit of screening-what info do you require that is not completely anonymous? (I.e. that if we gave it to a provider OTHER than yourself, she could use it to find out name, or work, or family, etc?)

For the well known hobbyist I can screen without any real life info BECAUSE they have a prolific presence and good reputation connected to their online persona. If they're info onlne is outdated I ask a bit more, still without getting to nebby. References, etc.,
2). From what you wrote- it seems like you wanted was a 'sense' of security; does the additional info you require provide an increase in security, or just the perception?

And in the obverse,
Some gentlemen are far too eager to hand over info I don't ask for. These gents make me uneasy by quickly offering up real life info that I DON'T want.
3). Finally - how does real-life info increase provider security? The only way I see is because it allows them to call police, or friends, to go after the hobbyist if something goes wrong-do you agree? Therefore, the hobbyist is more likely to behave.

Not the same screening as for a hobbyist but check to be sure she's
Zero drama
Good reputation for discretion
Has never threatened to out a gentleman or caused any un needed worry
Pimp Free.
Personally I believe the pimps are the last person you want to give any real info to. We've seen they can and do keep records and that's a huge nono. When the girls peter out they move to blackmail or worse.
I believe that real-life info absolutely decreases the risk to the provider, because the hobbyist has 'more to lose.'

Some ladies feel safer with more info, some of us prefer less.
Therefore, by definition, Real-life info INCREASES the risk to the hobbyist, because he has more to lose.
In a zero-sum game like that, giving a provider your name increases the risk to the hobbyist without any additional gain. THIS is the answer to the OP's question (assuming by 'screening' she means 'exchange of non-anonymous information from the hobbyist to the provider')

Some people feel safer knowing more about someone.....ladies who screen excessively, guys who scour Facebook linking up numbers to faces and real life info.
Personally, I prefer to know less about a hobbyist, I don't save numbers, sure, it means everyone has to reintroduce themselves when they text but I won't ever have Johnny Law asking why names like Amish Gangster, Titsfuck or BigStig are in my contact list.
I have some regular outcall clients that while I know how to get to their place I couldn't tell you the address if you shoved bamboo under my nails.
I provide what I expect to get in return.
Discretion, privacy and a "sense" of safety or ease with the person I'm going to meet.
Last thing I want to do is be stressed or worried instead of randy....
Again,
This is just me and the way I do things, just like the hobbyist we are all different in what we do or do not want to know.
If you feel a lady asks too much simply move on.
I have no problem saying No Thanks to a gent who doesn't want screened
It really is just that simple.
