So we must end this terrible onslaught of progress so Americans can compete. Odd a Democrat would make that claim, sounds like a Republican position. I hope I can find that buggy whip stock my grandfather left me.COG I am not saying and never have said that I support this position, rather I was just explaining that to many people what the President said can be construed as true. Of course simple simon only picks out the parts of a post which he can manipulate.
Or, the US could adopt policies that encouraged business to keep the new jobs here, rather than sending them to China and India. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

DD, I wasn't directing anything at you, it was just a general statement. If I want to insult you, I will try to be specific, so far the only emotion I feel toward you is jealousy at being smart enough, and bold enough to retire at 50.COG your many things but simple simon is not one of them. As for the rest I agree. I guess what I should have stated is the technology is eliminating those jobs available to individuals who do not have the education for the new one's being developed, these individuals however do spend a lot of money as a block and if they are not working they are not spending.
So if you insist on calling me Simple Simon, I will add that to my list of possible new screen names, but to be honest, I'm leaning toward "Other Old Idiot."
But I do think more jobs are being created than lost in this technological time. It's just that the US is not economically friendly to those jobs, so they are locating overseas. I wish there were a simple solution, but there isn't. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

Bottom line, is your such a dumb fuck that you take 1 line out of what he said and you make a giant thing out of it and when someone calls you on your bullshit you cant handle it. I am not a fan of Obama in fact I didnt vote for him and wont in the next election, but I am even more sick of the bullshit from the extremes on both sides. Oh hey do me a favor will yah, tell your mama that I left the donation on the night table next to the mouthwash, please tell her that she needs to watch the teeth next time. President Obama is simply grasping at a few straws to deflect attention from his dismal performance economically. Technological advances change jobs, they do not eliminate jobs. The auto industry wreaked hell on the buggy whip industry, but new jobs were created, and the buggy whip industry disappeared. There are plenty of tech jobs out there, but due to how the economy is being managed in the US, those jobs are in China and India. Not blaming the President for that, that started long ago, and the economy has been mishandled for decades. But he promised change, and it's the same old, same old. At least he didn't blame President Bush this time.
