I think one of the main offenders, ME, didn't post an Alert. There is a difference between and Alert and a topic in other forums. One, unsurprisingly, is to ALERT someone to some danger. A topic in other forums may only be a discussion. Keep it in context. I know how you feel, you've made it clear. We agree to disagree.

There are many times a guy might be want to warn his fellow mongers but be wary of reprisals against him. His options? Keep it to himself and he's safe and you're screwed. Tell all, then you're safe and he's screwed. Or to try to find a way to tip of those that are slightly more in tune with what's going on while creating a buffer between himself and the problem in the hopes that he can warn most of the guys and not incriminate himself. Doesn't always work, as I'm a case in point.

I agree in a perfect world full disclosure would be perfect. But we will never have full disclosure in anything in this hobby. What I do know for sure is, if every time someone posts half-information and they get filleted for not doing to your (and others liking), they will stop sharing the information. Don't for a moment think it's going to lead to more open communication. It won't. It will shut down people from sharing for fear or dealing with the bullshit. I know in my instance the level of bullshit I dealt with publicly and via PM was enough that I almost quit the board and moved on. I can only imagine what someone less stubborn might feel. After all, it's easy to say "Be a big boy and take what you get" when it's someone else. But when it shows up on your doorstep, your reactions might be much different. Originally Posted by Sens55

I would like to first point out that your post didn't straight any record straight, it only raises questions that people will ask. But, if I was given the chance to respond properly (given permission by MODs/owners to use PMs), then my post would straight the record straight and people would see the true colors.

I would also like to point out to you that you have broken a cardinal rule of this board in your post to me. You have discussed here in an open forum
a private communication made via PM between MODs discussing a member - me - and you have disclosed the content of a private
communication made between a female moderator and myself. This is directly contrary to rule #9 of the board guidelines. I will be
reporting this matter to the board owners.

I believe that your post was inflammatory and designed to illicit a response from me that may trap me into committing a "bannable offense"
at least one that will cost me points. If I reply as I would like to or should I say as I should - which would be to refute your statement with
facts and a timeline of events that is contrary to your assertion which would call you out with your own words. It would also remove any stigma
you wish to attach to me by this post you have made today which in my estimation proves why you shouldn't be a MOD as it really breaks
another rule of the board that suggests matters and feelings such as this that you have be addressed via PM and not in public.

In order for me to reply as I would like, I would be violating the same rule you should be sanctioned for violating now as you have committed a
violation in the code of conduct of this board.

On any other national board you would be given a vacation or lose your MOD status for something like this. I am sure here at ECCIE you and
others will cover and say it will just be another "fat finger mistake".

If you would like to give me amnesty, I'll be glad to disclose FACTS and bring many things to this forums attention regarding you, your lies and
your inability to effectively be objective when you moderate, I will myself need to violate rule #9 to present it and shed light on things
and prove irrefutably that you are a liar and of low moral character. But I'll never get the same pass you just got, I'll be pointed or banned
for revealing the contents of a PM - why won't you be?

BTW - you have NEVER given me this "warning" as you stated in your above post that you MEANT to give me in the first place (this so called "fat finger mistake"). My points disappeared and I have never heard from you why i was warned - does that not appear to most everyone else as it does to me? I'm sure it will.

You didn't get the warning because I didn't reinstate it after correcting my mistake - my bad. It was for disrespecting the mods (i.e. calling me a "liar"). As to the contents of the PM from the female mod, I didn't reveal anything that could possibly be construed as protected or confidential but you are obviously free to raise the issue - ranting is your right.

Since you don't know me and have never met or spoken to me nor will you ever, you could not possibly know what my moral character is or my honesty. But, I bet it is several degrees of magnitude higher than yours.

Everybody here has buttons. If they get pushed, because we as members are anonymous, its easy to get nasty, or a lot more rude or at least brusque than we would in person. Mods can make mistakes. It happens, they are human. But providers are the reason we are here. They are actually not anonymous on this board, any of us can arrange a meeting with one of them. That makes them vulnerable. We should be deferential to them, especially the good ones. Since he is a mod, I think it would be an good thing for BBD to just say, publicly "Hey I messed up, I take responsibility for your point. Accident though it was. I will learn as a mod from this error. I apologize for causing you any anxiety or grief and now lets all just move on." In my opinion it would allow both parties to ease back and withdraw with honor intact. That would also set a tone that our Mods are big enough and good enough to remain above the fray. My opinion...for what its worth. (not much)
