I missed Vietnam by a year, as I mentioned earlier but I went back to my ex's 15 year HS reunion and ran into a guy who was a year behind me and I ask what he had been doing. He said he had just gone to work for Conoco, I said, you are missing a few years, he said, I was in Vietnam. I said how could that be, I was DMG etc and could not go and he said he went air borne range and green beret and was actually in Cambodia running ambushes on the Ho Chi Man trail, I said that was illegal. He said he left a letter to his parents in a safe deposit box in Ft Benning explaining where he was.
