New Orleans and Corona

Just save the PO' BOYS ( half shrimp half oyster please ), the Red Beans and Rice, Etouffee and Beignets. Then you can bulldoze the place.

I lived just outside Orleans Parish in Jefferson Parish for 20 years and the only thing I miss is the food. Originally Posted by HedonistForever

Considering one order is 3 square pieces of dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar, 527 calories, 102 grams of processed carbs, and 11 grams of saturated fat, it is no wonder a bunch of unhealthy looking fat people were walking around, sweating and drunk on Bourbon Street. I didn't like the place, either. The hookers all looked like transvestites so I left them alone, too.

The comorbidities associated with such unhealthy behavior will no doubt contribute to high mortality rates among those infected during Mardi Gras.

I’ve been going to NOLA for 30yrs. Much worse things can happen to you than covid19 there.
seems to me that the great bulk of transmission would have occurred by Fat Tuesday.. sure New Orleans is crowded anyway, Bourbon Street barely ever shuts down. the French Quarter is the proverbial Petri Dish.

if I'm right, shouldn't the "peak" cases have occurred 2 weeks ago? I get that infected people would pass it along, but the stats suggest a 30 day (or longer) cresting, not 2 weeks like we have been told. or could it be that since we didn't know about quarantining for 2 weeks, on Fat Tuesday, New Orleans never had a chance to limit spread?

by the way, this idea of limited "re-opening" of the Country, based on County data, is doomed, IMO.. the "okay" Counties are almost all rural, non-producing areas.. couple that with the near Global shutdown, what makes anyone think our economy could perform worth crap? I remember all the 350 pound black women crying on camera that George Bush was starving them back when it flooded. He’d have been doing them a favor.

I know I starve them of attention, except for circumstances as described below.

It isn't about just about appearance (although her fucking cellulite makes me puke) or mortality. Sick fat causes very real and negative quality of life issues.

Among them are becoming a frail old man like Yssup Rider that a little old lady could beat up.

The message from the celebrity community should be "nobody should look like this because it is bad for your health and the fact is, you don't have to look like this, you don't have to accept this as an alternative lifestyle because it will likely kill you" but that ain't gonna happen in the music, movie business.
