Not a chance. WaPo would not have settled at that amount. This was a settlement... I'm going to estimate between 250k-500k... 1 Million would be on the HIGH end. Anything more than that.. and WaPo would have just seen them in court. Why? Because they have a team of lawyers that could have kept it in the legal system for years. Moreover, based on the claim filed-- they likely would have prevailed in court. Lawyers don't file suit looking to go to court.. they file suit looking for a settlement. Its far cheaper and easier.
