I dont agree with many of the assperts on covid. But I do follow the rules.
I do not go out in public except when necessary. I believe the more risks a person takes. The chances of catching it rises exponentially.
I don't disagree with your decision. Maybe I'll regret my decision. Attendance at the gym is certainly not what it was prior to COVID-19. Many seem to agree with you. I think that is the big problem. While masks may limit how far the virus spreads from a person, it doesn't stop it from being spread. The " if you just wear a mask " crowd thinks they are more effective than they really are, which means wearing masks really hasn't slowed the spread.kOREA: restaurant had 52 guests test positive, not 1 server wearing a mask.... the doctors and nurses literally giving medical service to PEOPLE WITH COVID are going home and not testing positive for it... masks must be a lie
As case counts went up more people wear a mask, but the numbers keep going up. Plus anytime I see the way people wear masks at least 50% don't wear them right. Plus they wear them too long, are careless in removal, and thus the masks do zero good for too many. Originally Posted by farmstud60

I am doing what is suggested by medical experts when out among others -- wear a mask, social distance, use hand sanitizer. I find it somewhat ironic that you are chastising me for my behavior, and to a certain degree I agree with you, yet support Donald Trump who does nothing to prevent the spread of the virus when in public. He is the true "super spreader".
You are a potential super spreader, my friend. I am not. The only difference between you and I is that I don't care what you do. It's up to you. If you want to spread COVID, I don't care. That's your choice, and those who participate in high risk activities also make that same choice.
I spend most of my days inside doing mostly nothing. You might tell by my post count. Originally Posted by Strokey_McDingDong

I wear a cloth mask. When I breathe, and I breathe hard while at the gym, no air escapes from the sides. I can blow into the mask with all my force and I can feel no air coming through the mask. I would agree that something could make it through the mask but it certainly would not travel as far as if I was not wearing a mask. And when at the gym I try to stay as far away from other as possible. And I use hand sanitizer frequently while there. Rather easy to follow safety rules.
Masks are not perfect. As you said, they are about 65% effective. But I do believe that if the recommended safety precautions are followed, less people will be infected. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

I do not wear a mask while driving. You are being exposed to various types of bacteria and viruses all the time. The environment isn't free of these pathogens just because you don't come down with an illness associated with them. That's the beauty of the Immune System, it's quite sophisticated. Now there's nothing wrong with taking precautionary measures but this Pandemic has turned more people into neurotic germophobes.
I too wipe down machines after I use them at the gym but I worry much more about the virus being spread through the air. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

I just want to point out that I do both, but I am not a lockdown lover. If you rarely leave your home then you definitely take more precautions than I do. Today I went to the gym, a food store, Just-Mail-It, and Home Depot. Wore a mask at all times and practiced social distancing as much as possible. Risky behavior? I don't think so but I ceertainly put myself in a riskier situation than staying at home.
I support H I M because H I M is fighting for our freedom and liberty. I don't want people to be forced to wear masks or to be locked up while the politicians can do whatever they want. It's fucked up. Originally Posted by Strokey_McDingDong
