As for political affiliation, if my research is accurate, the Senate bill was sponsored by five Republicans and four Democrats, and passed the Senate 31-0. Regardless of party or personal beliefs, no politician is ever going to have the balls to stand up and say to the people of the state, "I think it's perfectly acceptable for your 18-year-old daughters to be strippers."

Yeah, I know about unintended consequences, but that's just the way it is.

And it took effect immediately upon the governor's signing of the bill.

I'm remembering my undergraduate days at UT Austin. There were quite a few girls dancing in various clubs around Austin to pay for college. (I knew a girl in Dallas who paid for her MBA by dancing at Cabaret Royale. I am told that there were a lot of business and law school textbooks open in the Cabaret Royale dressing room, as girls studied between sets and rounds on the floor.)

This is almost certainly correct. This is just another example of how every time the government (at any level) attempts to solve a "problem" by passing a law it almost always fails due to unanticipated or unintended consequences.

Oh, wait, we can check that box usually.

But it seems pretty obvious what the consequences here are likely to be, right? If they are thinking these girls are just going to get jobs at 7-11 instead...well, see above.

Personally, I think there should be one age that defines when a person becomes a responsible adult and which separates the things an adult is permitted (or required) to do from those that a minor is prohibited from doing, and it should apply uniformly to everything. Originally Posted by billw1032

Unfortunately, there is no law that says our laws need to make any actual sense.
Think about how government policy is in a country like The Netherlands, for example. Definitely very good for the hobby. Now compare that euro liberal attitude to how the Republicans are in the US - wanting everyone to (appear to society)as church ladys, to put things in simple terms. Democrats in the US want the country to have policy and laws similar to that of northern Europe (and others such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, more). For hobby fun we need Democrats in office - end of story - not a doofus who clears protesters out of his way and poses for publicity selfies in front of a church holding up a bible...then the hypocrite pays off his porn star friend. There was a lady, years ago, who saw her husband on one of the stings where they posted the license plates of those attended strip clubs. She went on a rampage against them, and ran for office there. Won too, despite all the money that said clubs bring into Houston. Why? Because even though most people have gone to a club, no politician here is going to campaign on that. There is no pro stripper party, at least not one that is going to get any meaningful votes, in today's climate.
Would be curious what everyone's thoughts are on the other end of this. Yes, the under 21 girls are going leave, but will that make extras harder to get from those who stay? A LOT less competition....

But in general Republicans are more likely to hold to old fashioned and repressive religious ideas... that's my 2 cents. Take a look at states and countries that have made recreational marijuana legal. Did this happen with conservatives pushing for change?

As a side note: to me it's no wonder why so many US citizens snap and go on murderous sprees(because of unhealthy denial of desires stated above... also that American attitude that no amount of money made is ever enough), but that's for another discussion another day...

Not only the dancers are gone but waitresses also...They can't work either if under 21...So service is going to suck
Trump apart of swamp, and main street media and establishment Amazon big pharma, big box stores Walmart, 90% media outlets..... Read alternative news sources media is owned by 6-8 players that care more about market share and global economy then what's best for American citizens example access to China market etc..... Dems say ice and border patrol Nazis and 500 kids in cages separated from parents , cages that Obama built but trump fault ..... Now record numbers kids separated parents no real border 10s of thousands cross.... Kids extorted sex trafficking left to die coyotes, slave to cartel debt extorted to families back south for money.... Media now silent.... Media is worse than government because they hide cover change narrative.... Fauci was held as a saint during pandemic even all his back and forth confusing messaging.... Now emails leaked he gave money to lab that most likely Gabe of functioning research created covid 19 released , fauci said wet market never talk bout lab as possiblity CCP loves fauci ..... Actually better argument that fauci is responsible for thousands of deaths and one of the worst people to effect USA in the history with his incompetence, ego, and cover up but media loves him don't hear any questions till can't cover up like Andrew Cuomo
Both parties suck atleast one taxes you less will leave state open during a pandemic and doesn't have establishment media, news, social media , university, Hollywood, sports, .... Every advantage to control messaging.... But I'm punk rock fan so always anti establishment

The clubs in Atlanta used to allow under 21 girls to dance and I assume they still do. They had to wear wrist bands and were not allowed to drink. Their solution was to smoke weed in the club and I assume they drank in the dressing room.

The under 21 girls were probably 5% of the girls dancing. Many were Cuban. They were great for lap dances but were never the best option for extras in the VIP. Some would do VIP but they were never the performers. And they were a terrible option for takeout because of their immaturity, lack of experience, an inability to go to a bar.

So in Dallas, what percentage of club girls have been under 21 up to now? Is it really going to have much effect on the club scene?
