simple question

You can review my thoughts all you want, Salty.

Very interested in your thoughts on the other items. Originally Posted by HDGristle

Cyber-security aside there, mate - wonder if the FBI
will EVER find Hillary's missing e-mails?? ...

They gotta be up there in the cloud somewhere...

You could Salty... but that would be the same surface level, partisan crap displaying no actual depth of knowledge on the efforts the administration has been taking in cyber.

Berry will remember that about a year ago we were discussing a pile of Executive Orders that were part of the news cycle. Well, I was discussing them. Others were focused almost solely on volume and how the country was being changed by Executive fiat because that was the flavor of the day which the hyperpartisan right and its media gave up on talking about rather quickly. But I laid out a list of all of the EO's at that time that had been rescinded or amended. And there have been more EO's, orders and memoranda since, as in every administration as they lay out their agenda. *queue volume and shallow partisan rebuttals*

Let's start off by saying that 14028 was a good step forward. That was issued last May, I believe. The behind the scenes work that has followed to combat ransomware and the focus on critical infrastructure have been solid. Still much work to do, but getting NATO to revise its cyber policies was years overdue and to improve collaboration and communication among law enforcement agencies, as well as outreach to the civilian sectors have been very beneficial.

Last month there was a further memorandum in this area. Jan 18th. Check it out and read up on what your government is doing. There has been a lot of work in this arena between last May and now. A lot of it's been well reported. A lot requires you to go off the beaten path. Some requires some insider knowledge of working within those industries.

I won't post any links because this is a homework assignment with a purpose.

I then expect a pile of comments about fascism and government overreach divorced of context rather than informed discussion agnostic of partisan politics and clickbait hot takes.

This is the oranges scenario, guys. It's the same as the challenge to read and understand the EO's and not the reporting full of telephone game bias and filtering. To go off the beaten path and down a rabbit hole in an area where I know you don't already have a strongly entrenched position and to see what that does and if it make you reassess those entrenched positions at all. How you assimilate that knowledge. Which sources you choose to use. Whether the responses show an understanding of the source material and correctly interpret their tone and viewpoint. It speaks dramatically to legitimate intellectual curiosity. Not to applying Keynesian macro divorced of the micro factors hiding under the surface.

We could absolutely dive into the usual suspect issues laid out in the OP, but it will start from a place where folks are all about talking... and not listening, evaluating and discussing honestly and agnostic of partisan rhetoric.

I don't wanna and you can't make me
... I will agree-with H.D. on things concerning cyber-security.
I've seen enough news evidence that show the Biden administration
working for BETTER cyber-security. It might be the onley thing
positive that they've done to this point - but it IS significant.

'Course that surely DID start when Trump was President - the
pushing out of the corrupt cyber-swampers - and Podesta and
Brennan shown the door also...

When the same "intelligence" heads who told us about Iraq and
weapons of mass destruction - are the same ones telling us
that Trump colluded with Russia -- THERE IS A PROBLEM.
And the very same "intelligence" STILL cannot find Hillary's
missing e-mails??

Hmmmm... Not sure if I remember - did this same intelligence
tell us BEFORE the election that Hunter's laptop really
wasn't Hunter's laptop and just "Russian Dis-information??
OR was THAT just the lying main stream news media?

... Either way - it's surely time to start over.
