Just remember, every piece of hardware that we give to Ukraine has to be replaced. How much does anyone want to bet that Biden hasn't come out with an order yet? Originally Posted by the_real_Barleycorn

Who'd-a-thunk it?!? The President of Russia has declared that any weapons movements into and around Ukraine would be treated as a hostile act and be dealt with as such. Do we need to start a betting pool on how much of ours, our children, grandchildren and great-grand children's tax dollars will go up in fire and smoke?

Recalling that the Ruskies zipped on by the Donbass region on their merry way to Kiev and elsewhere, the actual battle begins in the Donbass (though they did also resupply troops to the East of the area), where the Ukrainian air cover has been removed, their supply lines are cut and support troops are blocked from access to support Ukraine troops that are now totally isolated, surrounded and stranded. Some call it a pincer move, others call it a killing field. Meanwhile, the LambSCREAMMedia is touting the situation as an 'opportunity' for the Ukraine military to... you know... the thing... Come on man.
Battle for the Donbass has begun — Ukraine
Kiev says the “second phase of the war” has commenced

The second phase of the Russian offensive in Ukraine and the Donbass has started, President Volodymyr Zelensky and his advisers claimed on Monday evening. Kiev said there were reports of heavy fighting on the Donetsk, Lugansk, and Kharkov fronts, and that Ukrainian troops were holding the line.

“We can now confirm that Russian troops have begun the battle for the Donbass, which they have been preparing for a long time,” Zelensky said in a video posted on Telegram on Monday evening.

“A large part of the Russian army is now dedicated to this offensive,” he added.

His chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, said earlier that the “second phase of the war” had started in the east, but urged Ukrainians to “believe in our army, it is very strong.”

Russian forces are attacking “along almost the entire front line,” said Alexey Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. “Fortunately, our military is holding on.”

The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on any ground operations on Monday. There were reports from frontline correspondents about heavy fighting south of Izyum, north of Severodonetsk, and west of Donetsk city. There were also reports of artillery and missile strikes in Kharkov, Nikolaev, and the north-western Donetsk regions.

Russia attacked the neighboring state in late February, following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements, first signed in 2014, and Moscow’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. The German and French brokered protocols were designed to give the breakaway regions special status within the Ukrainian state.

The Kremlin has since demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.
