Forgot this one. While VP in 2011, Senile Biden also led negotiations with Republicans for a deficit reduction "grand deal" that included Social Security and Medicare (so aggressively that Obama hit the brakes).

So, the TLDR summary for most people is Biden said and worked on similar things to Scott that you're praising Scott for... except the ill-advised sunset provision that can easily lead to a complete elimination of the programs. (Wink, wink regarding conclusions that this is the real end game for certain folks) Scott publicly acknowledged that his program could lead to cuts and elimination even if it wasn't his "intent"
