Question about aspd?

I joined ASPD in 1999, around Christmas. A lot of user names here that I recognize. Never really went to socials, but I was saddened by Mother Hen's passing (though we never met, we had become friends and would talk on the phone once a week or so), and the subsequent demise of the site. It was the Golden Age, that's for certain.
I was an ASPD member back when Amber was running the show. Never met her, but had a lot of back and forths via email when a provider would pull a NC/NS, or demand a deposit, and then got snarky, etc.. Back then a ban was a ban, and she, like Gina at P411, didn't put up with a lot of BS from bad providers.

What I could never figure out is how 120 + people who got busted at that get - together and the person who organized it, rented the event location, supposedly "vetted" and checked members at the door, etc., walked - with no arrest record or record of being interviewed by HPD and is still organizing and holding similar "get-togethers" today.

All of that happened before LPR's that can scan and geolocate thousands of license plates an hour, facial recognition being run in real time and being reported in real time by every Google web cam, etc.

The only way you'll see me at any "get-together" is in a cremain urn. And probably not even then.

I pretty much limit my hobbying today to civilized countries, where the hobby is either outright legal or decriminalized. Prices are lower because of currency exchange rates and genuine competition, and quality and variety of services available are not even on the same scale as the run-of-the-mill "services" available in most of the US. Hell, in the Netherlands, escorts have to get monthly STD checkups and have to possess a permit to practice, or else they face serious criminal penalties. The STD checkups and treatments are all free, courtesy of "socialized" medicine.

Why is the US the last of the "post-industrial" nations to outlaw the hobby? The answer is simple - too many politicians are making too much payoff by the organizations that own and run the "ladies" (examples above, current examples are available in any Member's Only section of any of the boards).

How truly independent ladies can stay healthy, alive, and make a living is truly a mystery to me. God bless 'em! I busted my hobby cherry with three truly exceptional independents on ASPD (not at the same time) - two of whom had Master's Degrees in IT and just hobbyed because they needed to bust big "O"s after stressful days in the office. Yes, those were truly the Golden Days of the hobby.
You bring up a good point, one of the best benefits of Aspd days was how chill it was.Girls were cool, managers who ran the places became friends and the lurking of people trying to bust you was not front and center in your mind. Sigh…..
I remember Maria and Laura Garza The were legends. Kept contact with Maria for sometime I am now retired Sure those ladies put lot of smiles and very professional. You always felt like meeting friends and not business. I miss those days

Brought some good memories

Therefore, I put aside cash from the busy times to allow myself to pay for stuff during the not-so busy times. I took accounting in college, and while I wasn't very good at it. I learned a few things, that I still use to this day. Thanks for your input sir! It is greatly appreciated.
I still remember sitting at a bar at P.F.Changs in Boston and it being a national story that evening. Showing the storefront of Escape 6 which I had been in 2 days earlier... talk about ruining your appetite.
