I appreciate your response. And I appreciate your efforts on the site. I think what you’re seeing is a lot of frustration with one particular mod. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to pick local people to moderate locally. Some of these guys become friends and you end up with Mods that aren’t neutral.
Full disclosure I don’t know this, it just sure seems like it.

Think back to the late 2004 ASPD era wherein "the Texas mods" became quite controversial "banning" local PGH members with impunity, and for specious reasons. What happened? The whole PGH hobby-scene gravitated to Indys (quickly) in early 2005 right after Indys created it's public and Vouched forums. Many of the first threads on Indys revolved around "the Texas mods" and how they had essentially ruined ASPD with all their random "bannings" and such....
Who was the single most Reasonable, Level-Headed, Judicious, and Common-Sense mod/admin all during the late ASPD era, and before the local-hobby Exodus to Indys? Laserface, a local PGH mod/admin, the only local PGH mod (I believe) besides the also "judicious" local mod Speedracer69. (Speedracer69 became a well-liked, well-respected admin on Indys and I understand Laserface was offered an admin-position there and turned it down.) I never read Laserface "overreact" to a members posts and his posts were always calm and diplomatic and judicious. Why? Probably because he understood the PGH hobby-scene better than any of the ASPD Texas mods. Laserface was essentially "the model" of how a hobby-board mod/admin should "judiciously" do his job. Tough but fair. No random bannings and "favoritism" in threads which often become "controversial" and involve (why not?) errrant bickering....
Mods/admins of Eccie now? I avoid a lot of controversy by simply not reading, and certainly not posting in, the "politics" section. Any hobby-person can avoid a lot of trouble/drama by simply not reading/responding in that forum. The (very) positive thing about that forum (for Eccie broadly) is that it "collects" and "isolates" some of the serial-posters who would otherwise antagonize other posters in other forums and all over legit hobby-topic threads. So keep the "politics" forum. Group all the drama-posters all together in one forum and let them bicker and antagonize one another. Greatly improves all the other forums of the site....
Stick, as much as anyone can, to "hobby" topics and don't get involved in "politics" threads. But keep the "politics" section so many of those guys can spend most of their time bickering and antagonizing each other in that specific forum. It temperamentally "cleans up" all the other actual hobby-related forums and threads....
