An American jailed in Russia for years, coming home.

True, but it's understandable why he tried to underplay it given his own meme coin scam.

Not a good deal buy glad we have Fogel back
Russia also got another unnamed prisoner back. Wonder why trumpf is keeping the prisoners name secret?

That would be cybercrime kingpin Alexander Vinnik. Hacker. Money launderer. Ties to the FSB and a pile of bad hombres as he moved piles of dirty money and ran one of the largest crypto exchanges at the time to further his crimes.

He was involved in numerous computer intrusions and hacking incidents, ransomware attacks, identity theft schemes, bribery, and tied to prohibited topics rings.

This is what Winn's talking about Devo

The White House confirmed to the BBC Vinnik's identity and impending release.

President Donald Trump also indicated earlier that another detainee would be freed in the exchange for Fogel after he was released from a prison in Russia and returned to the US Tuesday night.
Implication in some reporting was that it's a 2 for 1. But it wasn't clear. Rubio had already gone on record saying there was no prisoner swap at all for Vogel, before he got undercut a few hours later when it became clear Vinnik was being returned to Russia.

Bad deal is a bad deal even if it had some positive outcomes.

Biden's deal was bad. Trump's deal was bad.

Glad to have gotten Americans back, but this wasn't equivalent exchange by any means. It's ok to be honest and admit that Waco. No one will judge you. You won't lose your MAGA card or decoder ring, either

Trump got him out. unless you think that's not the important part?

It's not when Vinnik is walking free

You can rationalize it as needed. Slap whatever veneer on you want. Bad deal.

No. Art of the Deal should have found a better deal. We have other Russians. Our allies have other Russians.

Btw, the perpetual need to personalize things while making poor assumptions is hilarious, tho.

if Biden had gotten this guy out .. would you have called it a bad deal?

Vinnik for Fogel is a bad deal regardless of which administration made the deal. You're stuck in this Biden vs Trump thing that doesn't matter to me.

Same for a Vinnik for Griner or Whelan deal.

all exchanges are bad deals.

Not all. Heavily depends on the facts and circumstances. You can have a suboptimal win/win. This was a compromise, but I feel there was a better deal to be made.

again .. if Biden had made the same deal .. would it still be a "bad" deal?
