on the other hand, almost simultaneously, Trump makes a "peace proposal" that unilaterally hands over Crimea to Russia, which is just silly.

What the problem is- is that Trump has (always does) over plays his hand and abilities. I get that he would like to be a guy who gets people to get together and find a resolution, but that would assume that he knows how to negotiate (he doesnt) and that the people fighting want to stop (Vlad doesnt). I don't dislike Trump for trying- I dislike him for lying about everything he says he will try or will do.
