CBS 11 investigative report on 3 days of P4P stings in Tarrant County

It's stupid that we have not raised the minimum wage. It is cruelty, in my opinion.

I do think that pimping and pandering is related to poverty wages.

poverty is not a direct cause imo. how those girls were brought up, their lack of education or encouragement to educate themselves and desire for quick emotional and material gratification (including from lack of good family upbringing) or addiction drives that. Originally Posted by nookiebandit

In their own words: How Texas pimps recruit and sell girls for sex

Quote from one of the pimps:
K.A.: If you meet a female, she don't got no family, she don't got nowhere to stay, but you got a little bit of money, you doing for her, you putting a roof over her head, feeding her ... she going to end up trusting you, depending on you.
There are countless articles.

The only reason I went to this length is because I want to dispell the notion that "crime" is about riches and wealth and notiriety and not directly a result of poverty. It's a story I hear over and over about welfare queens and people mooching off stamps yada yada. But that's not what's really happening and it obscures our view of the true issues we face as a society.

I'm sure some are attracted by fast money, nice house, a luxury car. But when the minimum wage is unlivable, and people are being evicted despite working 3 jobs, what are they supposed to do? how are they supposed to survive in the system?
Ahab11 made a good point about the parking lots, “she blew up my phone with nonsense and eventually gave me the room # but I was 15 minutes down the road. That's why I have a short fuse for waiting in Hotel Parking Lots.” I don’t like to wait around in a parking lot at a hotel. I’m always observing my surroundings in the area. One time, I waited for Tara Reid at a hotel’s parking lot. She kept on apologizing every 5 minutes that she was still getting ready to see. I replied I was about to leave, then she gave me the room #.

One thing I do is I drive around my surrounding areas and wait in the parking lot to see what type of activities is going on for that day. It’s interesting what comes up when you see a particular provider or an event that’s taking place. Originally Posted by Joddxxx

Interesting optics in this reporting.
They were surprised how the men were arriving one after the other. Weren't the police scheduling them that way?

Of course the women accepted the assistance. They either needed it or hoped it would keep them from being arrested.

Too many other thoughts on how we are approaching this issue in the wrong way expending vast resources with minimal results. I gotta end my post now.

The fact that guys were so close by when they confirmed the date indicates how many of these men are making spur-of-the-moment decisions (a true impulse buy). I don’t think that’s the way most guys who post on this site operate, so that concept of just going open-throttle into a session is a bit foreign to guys who are a bit more careful in their approach.

Your closing paragraph made me lol, as I too had a lot of thoughts going through my head as I watched this piece. It was one of the most thought-provoking news reports on the subject I’ve seen.
I wonder how they got over 20 guys t show up in one day. I wonder where the Ads were posted. Thats insane the were able to get guys lined up one after another.

I think we have laid out in this thread how different a lot of the guys who partake are from those of us who are active on this board. They are so desperate for sex they don’t take any precautions. The hard part for LE is stage managing it in such a way that they don’t give away the game until it is too late.

Not responding directly to everyone, but just challenging the thinking on some of the responses to the articles.

1) If poverty were the cause of the "crimes" that are being caught on camera, and the poor innocent women that exploit the desire of men, and of course the pimps who recognize and monetize that desire, then everyone who makes poverty level wages or has no skill would be caught up in this business.

According to the Census Bureau that would be 4 Million people. And half of that (The women) would be 2 Million Hookers on the street.

So I appreciate the need to white knite for people who make poor decisions, I make poor decisions and i need someone to help me too, I hate the justifications that if only I had someone else's money all MY problems would go away. No, With a lot of money I would make a lot more bad choices, until I learn to make good choices that is.

2) Why is it considered a crime for a sentient being to consensually agree to exchange a service for money? Or even let a third party contractor help them set up appointments and such?
Barring the age of the participants seems like it should be completely legal.
Now I know this is the real world, and I can't be so niave and all that, but still, I find that concept frustraiting.
