Mack to lay off 250-350

^^ Twaddle

It has nothing to do with tarriffs. If those trucks are made in the US of A, no tarriffs

Stellantis owning the plant was twaddle.

You've disregarded the cost of any parts brought in from abroad via Volvo's supply chain, and the demand for new trucks. We've seen shipments paused. This has an impact on domestic transportation. There are now recession fears due to the tariffs, which also has an impact on domestic transportation. If Volvo forecasts the tariffs will stifle demand they will adjust headcount in addition to other cost containment measures or strategic rebalancing needed in order to hit their financial objectives.

You're only scratching the very surface veneeer of the surface level.

But I do love the energy.

“In remarks broadcast Monday on National Public Radio, Fain claimed Trump’s tariffs would help reverse the long term decline in auto jobs. “We’ve sat here for the last 30 plus years, with the inception of [the North American Free Trade Agreement] back in 1993-94, and watched our manufacturing base in this country disappear,” he said.”

Naw, We already covered this in post 17 Fain wasn't talking about Mack LVO. It's ok that you were wrong.

The chaos caused by this administration is costing us some good American jobs. Manufacturing jobs.

Sad

Yeah. Like I said, it has barely changed.

I love it when an article corrects multiple issues of twaddle at the same time.

Confirms that Volvo is the owner rather than Stellantis.

Confirms that tariff uncertainty depressing demand is driving the moves.

Confirms that the tariffs are hurting U.S. manufacturers

Confirms that these ARE manufacturing and assembly roles, not drivers

This was all unnecessary, and I hope the affected workers and this local community bounces back. I don't love when hard working Americans lose their jobs.
Not only was it unnecessary, it was completely self-inflicted. trump is the government equivalent of Sideshow Bob walking around the yard constantly stepping on rakes.
