The pentagon can easily put out press releases with information they feel the public needs to know. There’s no value in having a bunch of reporters roaming the halls trying to beg, borrow, steal or fuck themselves access to information they probably shouldn’t have.

Journalism is a form of public oversight of our government institutions.

I think that asking the press to sign a loyalty pledge that abrogates their first amendment rights is unconstitutional. I’m less sure that keeping the press out of the pentagon is.

There is a case however for selective bias. I am sure someone is filing it as we speak.
