They keep telling us that illegal aliens do not get medical services paid for by the US taxpayers... why then would Michigan file a lawsuit to prevent sharing citizenship information from their healthcare data? I mean, by law illegals can't be in that database...

The purpose is of this is two-fold:

1) Medical records (called "beneficiary level" in the above notice) are private by FUCKING FEDERAL LAW. This reminds everyone of that. There is a current legal fight ongoing about whether DHS/ICE can get and use this data, as stated in the first sentence. It has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, they ain't giving this shit out. Normal people would support that until the courts decide.

2) To make sure that people who need medical care do not avoid getting it because of fear of DHS/ICE. Normal people think it is a good idea for people to get necessary medical care, regardless of other circumstances.
