I have tried most of the steakhouses mentioned above -- Ruth's Chris, Bohanan's, Flemings, etc. and have had good steaks at times. But, my favorite is Chama Gaucha. (When in NY I go to Plataforma)
For the price of the steak alone, you get all the variety plus the great salad+ bar. You can try different cuts of steak, veal, pork, ribs as often as you like. If a piece isn't to your liking, you push it aside and call for a different cut. Try that at a traditional steakhouse.
Plus, you must try the caparhinia (sp?). I discovered them in Rio. I now understand why they dance the Samba!
