I have come across these type of situations before where it did not really compute for me, until I realized not everyone is a cynical and suspicious type like me. Some people in the world are just open and friendly, want to meet new people, and don't assign such importance to traditional signals like meeting the parents. They may live like that and just be friendly folks - who knows?
Otherwise, it doesn't seem quite kosher to me...
