Live and let live. That is what I say!!!

I have seen this and I always figure it's the same mentality that has manager at Chili's complaining because they think the Burger King down the road is preventing them from getting business. Or that the little niche cheese market that always has a great selection and cheese pros around is mad because a WalMart opened nearby and people are buying their cheese there.

In Dallas at least there are an amazingly ample number of providers, which I think has given some the impression that there is too much supply and not enough demand, so they get upset if they have open hours they would like booked yet they see girls undercutting their rates, and/or advertising on multiple platforms (BP isn't the only other place around here to throw up an ad folks...) And that causes this.

I agree that people should focus on what they can control rather than what they can't. If a provider is having a hard time booking up hours she wants filled, and really feels like that girl advertising for $100 an hour on BP is the competition talking "her clients" then she has two finite options.
a) Compete on the level of your competition
b) Find a different clientele who won't be interested in what the other provider has to offer.
Welcome to the Free Market.

carlin said it better: So I say, “Live and let live.” That’s my motto. “Live and let live.” Anyone who can’t go along with that, take him outside and shoot the motherfucker. It’s a simple philosophy, but it’s always worked in our family
