14. Why are our police being militarized?
I have been asking this for years. Seems like more and more departments are growing their 'SWAT" teams, I am waiting for the day when I get pulled over by a patrol officer and he is dressed in tactical gear.

The population of KC has declined steadily since 1970, yet the size of the police force (and crime) has steadily increased (is there a causual relationship there?). Does anyone have definitive statistics of the number of LE personnel from year to year?
