Other outfits, like RCP do the same thing. But that 247 is not quite 270 which is what either candidate will need to win the electoral college. Scott Rasmussen is a registered Independent. He was brought up loosely as a Republican and became a Democrat after Richard Nixon and into the Jimmy Carter era. He says is he is now an Independent. Rasmussen Reports is an independent polling firm with no party affiliation.
