We can go all History Channel in here and mention the theories of Zecharia Sitchin and Erich von Daniken. How humans were bred by aliens to mine gold. The Illuminati have known this all along from Sumerian tablets but have tried to suppress the truth, and put out these half-baked evolution theories!

IMHO, the scientific evidence for evolution is overwhelming. However, this thread was not intended to trigger a (futile) discussion of this topic on which some people have taken unmovable positions. I merely wanted to express my concern about the possible negative effect of having our nation's science policy determined by people with questionable aptitude on the matter. The state of Kansas put creationism into the science books for the schools years ago. In a couple of generations we might be back with a flat earth.
