Man Acquitted in Killing of Escort/Prostitute...

hebman, there is a big factor here that no one is mentioning. I think because no sex occurred, he wasn't involved YET in any criminal activity. And she left after only a couple of minutes as opposed to the hour that he had paid for. So, she was stealing but he had not committed a crime so by the law, he was not subject to rules applying to "during a criminal act" laws. Maybe?
He looks like a fucking creep.....poor girl, I wonder what kind of trouble she was caught up in. It wasn't cool that she stole his money without giving him what she agreed to do but she shouldn't have been shot. If that is indeed what occurred that night.

"The Texas law that allows people to use deadly force to recover property during a nighttime theft was put in place for “law-abiding” citizens, prosecutors countered. It's not intended for someone trying to force another person into an illegal act such as prostitution, they argued."

I guess anyone of us ladies could go out to an outcall and leave after agreed upon time with our donation (or just leave due to him trying to force us to do something we didn't do) and the guy could shoot us and make up a nice (well, not nice) story to tell the authorities? Disturbing and sick.

We will never know HER SIDE or if what HE is SAYING happened REALLY happened. All we have to go by is what HE SAID happened. Sad. Very sad.

I will agree she did not deserve to die and will take his claims that her death was not intentional at face value. Both parties made bad decisions. Unfortunately, she paid the highest price.

As for your concerns of a client being able to do this to anyone I suspect that providers get assaulted on a regular basis. Especially when they have bad business practices of not screening and or providing lousy service or trying to scam customers. However, I also believe that this guy was lucky he got the verdict he did. The prosecution made an error in only charging him with murder. I suspect that the jury would have liked to convict him of something that was not as severe in its consequences.

And finally, I am kind of fond of your hugs so be careful.

I'm not a lawyer...but isn't shooting someone while committing a crime automatically a Felony at least? How did this guy get off? Lol.

I would think it doesn't matter if the property was stolen or not, he was still committing an illegal act...and then shot someone.
Good karma needs to be practiced by everyone. Sad, hope everyone stays safe!
This shit really pissed me off!
