Dakota, Houston is a big city with lots of transplants from all over the world. Texas Hospitality only applies to those who were born here or lived here for more than half their life. Don't let the haters deter you. One suggestion I would make if this really bothers you, is to place an ad with a request for pre-booking. If you get a few, then come on down. If you don't, cancel the trip and move on. Personally, I'd love to see you, +1 for your visit!
