I can't understand why anyone would find big lips a turn-off. It's like rejecting a delicious cherry pie because it doesn't look exactly like the picture you saw in a cookbook.

As I recall, girls/women are not born with large labia minora - they start to grow after a period of time(usually during puberty, sometimes growth begins right before puberty).
Society tends to celebrate youth and all its trappings. Society doesn't think of young women as having large "pussy lips" (even though this may be common starting in girls as young as 9 years old), and tends to associate them with mature women - even though this may not be the case.
Uh...look at our society in general, and see what the general opinion of "mature women" tends to be.
Ergo, large labia minora may be associated with maturity, even if unconsciously.
We all know what that means... :/
