I hope the silent people sending you PM's will speak up. While I do not see any problems I am well aware that I know very little of all the things going on. If there is a problem, shine a light on it and provide examples so that it can be addressed. If everyone with a problem stays silent, then they are the problem. Originally Posted by Laz

All I will say is this. I don't think Mokoa is the issue completely. I was once getting stalked and it was bad. Mokoa was able to calm me down and talk some sense into me. He is quite strict and I do think some of the rules need to be changed. Mainly ones that protect hobbyists more than providers (hiding hobbyist's info on alerts in the infoshare). I think Mokoa is a good person. He admits his faults and explains his reasoning. I remember once when I had gotten some violation that was completely uncalled for. I messaged him very irate and pointed out why it was uncalled for. He reversed it and apologized. I do have an issue with the other mod (unprofessional). Rules on the San Antonio board DO need to be changed though. Freedom of speech should definitely be allowed more than it is. I'm sure some of the worry is that people will make themselves look more like jackasses but you know what? That's a good thing! That way we can stay away from them. Providers need more rights on the board. Alerts in the info share shouldn't be censored. It's need to know information. Members should be able to be banned by their activities outside the board with other members (rape, stalking, etc) with proof of course. There is also two sides to every story and I had no idea what this whole "debate" was about. Now I can't say for certain which "side" I'm on but some of the things do make sense. I also went and visited the Austin board and I rather like it. Although there are some things I don't agree with. I'm also wondering if Mokoa was told to be strict by someone higher? Perhaps he's following rules given to him and the issue is further up? I don't know how the board hierarchy works.
I, personally, would give free reign for the postings. ThreAds don't bother me but if you allow some then you must allow them all. Picking and choosing isn't right. As long as members aren't threatening, harassing, stalking, or doing things that will actually hurt someone then it should be allowed. Freedom of speech is way underrated here. Hobbyists AND providers should be allowed to speak without being censored. But they must also accept the consequences of their words. Mods should be professional and handle things without snide remarks or insults. Mods should only intervene when it becomes dangerous.
Providers need more rights and protection (from rape not words) on the board. Yes I said it. I've responded because I am in the "silent group". Whether or not this becomes career suicide then so be it. I responded as requested. I'm tired of being censored. I'm tired of being told that I shouldn't speak my mind or I will lose my clients. My clients KNOW me. They know I'm a great person and I don't personally like drama. I do think change is always good but just as long as it's done correctly. I don't like bashing others and I prefer to think everyone has a good heart (naive I know).
Whispers, you've made some good points. I just don't think Mokoa is the only problem. I think he's just doing what he's told. Just like Obama. I would definitely want to talk to the head mod of ECCIE to get the rules clarified. I would also start a "petition" to change the rules we do not like. And hopefully ECCIE is not like the US and will actually listen to their "citizens". If not...then perhaps starting a new website with the desired rules would be the next step.
I'm very curious to know what rules you're wanting changed, Whispers. I understand censorship but in which way? Would you want rights from Providers taken away? You seem to be very honest and I'm curious to your view point on Providers' rights.
Please forgive any misspellings or grammar errors. Still having cloudy thinking due to black mold.
