Favorite Bourbon/Whisky

My first scotch was The Macallan 12 year, I can only imagine what a 25 year must taste like.

The last few years, my go to single malt has been The Balvenie 12 year. However, I recently bought a bottle of Tobermory 10 year (enjoying some this very moment, in fact) after it was recommended to me, and I'm very impressed; it is very smooth with a hint of dark chocolate, then has a long lasting aftertaste that isn't harsh. I will be getting another bottle for certain. Originally Posted by MagicFingers

I'll probably look for the Tobermory as well, the dark chocolate sounds really good.

FYI

I did a little side by side taste test between some Weller 12 year and the
Firestone and Robertson TX Blended Whisky mixed 1.5oz each with small glass
of coke.

And even though the Weller is good I would pick the TX any day,
also like it better than the Forty Creek as well, sorry hun (To the Girl
that gave me the Forty Creek)

Imagine that, a whiskey made in Fort Worth being my favorite.
My favorite is Buffalo Trace, Kentucky bourbon....if You like Makers You will love Buffalo Trace.
numerous award winning greatness!

A good midpriced irish Bushmill Black 16

Scotch for me too. I have a 25 Year Bowmore if you like a little peat, and some smooth 18 year Speysides. I have not tried the Macallan 25, I should have bought it when it was $200 a bottle. I also have a 29 year Dailuaine that is really smooth.

The switch over to the milder whiskey!

One of my favorites: Glenmorangie - " Quinta Ruban ".

It's a 12 year old port cask Scotch - really rustic - a must over ice. This company has several scotch's with different taste, most all modified via the maturing processing of the used wine cask on the tail end.

Gotta love something that taste great and can be referenced " on the tail end ".

Aroma

Dark mint chocolate, tangerines and Seville oranges mingle with sandalwood and walnut before giving way to a spicy finish of pepper and nutmeg.

Taste

Mint chocolate and walnuts envelop the palate like velvet, laying the foundations for rose, Turkish delight and sweet Seville oranges.

Finish

Long lasting silky aftertaste leaving dark chocolate mints and traces of orange.
