Breaking Sexual Addiction

Man, I've been a part of this disfunctional fam known as ECCIE for about 8 months now and the only regret I have is that I didn't find out about this place sooner!

I mean this place is perfect for my sex addiction. Tell you what I did. I got a p411 account, an ECCIE account and a pocket full of cash and I went to work! It's not a cure... But there is no cure... Mainly because no one cares to dedicate the time or money to finding one. It has been decided that the time and money are better spent on medicating rather than curing. So in reality, sex is not the problem. It comes down to time and money. If you lack either, then there is your problem. There ya go, OP. It's because sexual addiction is not a recognized disorder by the APA. No agreed upon symptoms, diagnosis or treatment.

What OP suffers from is impulse control. He's a fat person making another trip to the buffet, hating himself for it and looking for a convenient "illness" that relieves him of owning up to his decisions.

For some, it's difficult. You can become addicted to anything that makes you feel good - I could list a variety of legal substances which are now regulated due to abuse, but that's beside the point.
Is it possible to become addicted to sex? Sure! If people can be addicted to coffee or cupcakes, or hair dryers and Comet, why not? Sex feels good. The brain becomes flooded with adrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin. Dopamine has similar effects to a certain highly addictive drug. We're simple animals. We like to feel good. It's what you do with your desires that determines the healthiness of them. How badly do you want / need that thing? If it becomes more obsessive / compulsive in nature, then I think an argument for addiction can be made. Especially if someone wants to stop, but finds they cannot without help. We see requests to close out accounts all the time. For those with disposable income, the hobby is a great alternative to any number of negative things... But if someone is pawning their television and wedding band to be able to pool enough money together to afford a quickie, then I'd say that person has a legitimate problem and needs help.

That's a pretty amazing gift for someone to come on here and tell us what we all are.... Personally I've only hobbied once.....For 15 years.

So far I haven't stolen or been fired from work or begged for money on the streets in order to scrape up the cash for the occasional blow job so I think I am good.
