84 Lakes is now a free fishing lake.
It's the owners way of getting out of those HUGE fines. He opened the place up after they removed said carp.
fish free as long as you have a PA license.

What's the deal with 84 lakes? I guess they have a fair amount of carp, but is it a good bass lake? I've never been to a pay lake before, and don't really plan to go. But any info would be appreciated, to see if it's worth a drive.

I really don't know anything about 84lakes since I haven't visited any pay lakes in PA. In fact, the only ones I've ever visited were stocked with trout and in the mountains of WV.

To best describe 84 though..... bunch of smallish lakes (ponds at best) right next to the highway with shade on one side of the lake, a small path of land between each one and a bunch of guys sitting on their chairs throwing in a line and popping the top of a cold one from the cooler within arms reach of the chair.
