This is a game a few friends and I made up on the very first BBS we had in Ohio and Kentucky back in 1985. For you kids out there, we first went live with our BBS using a couple of TRS-80s that had cassette tape drives.

At 1.77 MHz with 4 KB of RAM we tended to get bored while waiting for messages to go back and forth on the posts and threads, so out of sheer boredom we would entertain ourselves exchanging movie quote challenges while waiting for the processing. When we upgraded to the blazing speed of Commodore 64s, we had less time to exchange challenges in the lab, and started to make it a regular part of the BBS and the rest is history. One of the guys I worked with went on to join the design team that merged America Online with some other growing board and I think MQT was one of the first threads they used in the test version. Now it has become a patented board game, and just about every electronic community board has it own version.

I know there are a few regional games going, mostly on the Texas boards already, but I thought since we are trying to make the "E" a national giant, i might take a crack at putting a versio of the game here the main thread.

It is a pretty fun game with very easy rules.

1) Put your answer (movie title) in CAPs
2) Put your next quote in bold
3) If someone does not guess your quote within a few hours, come back and add a character, cast, or plot hint.
4) If someone makes a mistake and guesses your quote incorrectly, try to be gracious and feel free to point out the mistake, but keep in mind the thread may have moved on and you will need to guess the current pending quote before taking another turn.
5) Using the QUOTE BOX is helpful if the thread becomes tangled with discussions or multiple pending quotes. You can also use the EDIT function if you catch a redundant answer. Given how awesomely fast this board is, you may need to fix your response. It is is considered rude to jump a quote with one of your own--GET ONE TO GIVE ONE.

I will get us started with a classic from the same year I first played this game:

Wyatt: "Do you think Lisa's having a good time?"
Garry: "Lisa could have a good time at an insurance seminar, Wyatt." Originally Posted by ANONONE
