People on Idol will get their 15 mins of fame. But everybody that was mention, I have only heard of is Kelly Clarkson and Kerry Underwood. Oh and Fantansia and Jennifer Hudson but only because of their private life drama. What I mean by big it is at least a Grammy nomination, not win just being nominated. I am kinda old school, if you do have talent, you work hard, and are determined then you will eventually make it big. Being sexy is a big plus as well. Originally Posted by PornPet69

Ever hear of the band Daughtry, led by former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry? Current album sales 4.79 million!! Jennifer Hudson -- Academy Award winner and current album sales of 833,000. David Cook, winner a few years back, 1.32 million. Bucky Covington, 427,000. Josh Gracin, 703,000. Kellie Pickler, 874,000 and 444,000 with her two albums. Kris Allen, 326,000.

The one thing that these people have in common is that they would more than likely be unknown singers at this point in time without their "15 minutes of fame" on Idol. There are MANY singers out there who would KILL for a break that these people got by being on Idol.

Yes I agree it is an alternative but you will get more respect if you didn't take that route. Idol stars are like Tv reality stars, you know who they are but do you take them seriously.

Personally, if I made a million dollars (legally of course) I wouldn't care what other people thought about how I made it and what route I followed to get it. Of course I would have more respect for a person who built a company from the ground up and became a millionaire than a person who hit the lottery for millions, but I'll bet the lottery winner could care less what others thought about him.

I actually just saw that girl Pia on headline news yesterday. She said that was her 5th time trying out on Idol, so she is determine. If she keeps working hard then she might make it big. Also a pretty girl, I wouldn't mind FF her while she hums a tune.

She is a great singer but a poor entertainer -- I probably wouldn't go hear her sing if it was free.
