So how to profit from the coming collapse?

Had you considered that Trump might have sought office in a philanthropic, giving back to the country that made him rich in private practice by serving sort of thing? Or have you considered that Joe-mentia is only in it for the money for himself and his family members? Maybe the better question: How do you assume one does it for ego, but not the other? How about this simple and focused question: Why is Joe-mentia even running for President? I mean, he's been swinging at politics for 47+ years.

We can ponder the Politics to book deals money laundering and kick-backs pipeline another time. Originally Posted by Why_Yes_I_Do

I am not a stock or financial advisor, but uhmm: I saw where Twitter killed the account of Dr. Li-Meng (60,000+ followers) after she started making the rounds describing how the CCP was in fact responsible for intentionally creating and releasing the Wuhan-flu across the world. Now why would an American company want to silence that to curry favor from chYna? One would think that the 1st amendment was valued in our land.

Let me see if I understand you reasoning (sic):

Ego and personality = bad (Trump)
Selling out your country to enrich your family = good (Biden)

Perhaps you could take a moment to completely rearrange your priorities? Maybe considered committing yourself to a mental institution?

sk - it is fine to not like the persona of trump - I am not a fan muself
When I compare what Trump for the economy and many Affairs of America - including a Middle East peace treaty - it is far better than the wild-eyed socialist proposals of Bernie and AOC the DPST's have run to.

No human being is perfect - and anyone crazy enough to want to be POTUS will have flaws - most minor - some major - but trump is not Senile (biden is) , and IMHO - a better choice than marxist harris for POTUS. Biden has documented corruption in China and ukraine with his son - and believe me - the SDNY has tried everything to put forward a case against Trump - just as did nadler and Schiff - and failed.

Even if Trump wins in Nov I see mayhem until the inaugaration. If Biden wins, I see more mayhem. Even the analysts at CNBC are allowed to talk about it. I've sold most of my tech in the last two weeks.

I'm in about 70% cash. I have some hard metal but its a two edge sword. Should I be buying more metal? I've got ammo but not for a prolonged event. Got food for a couple of months.

That's what I've been doing, although by way of saving my money instead of committing any fresh capital to the market in recent years, and just staying with the positions I accumulated in about seven tranches between mid-2009 and early 2012. Perhaps sixty or more years ago, the late J. Paul Getty said that the wise investor buys equities when attractively priced and holds through thick and thin, not becoming concerned with mini-panics and other wild fluctuations. I endeavor to never forget that.

As a deep value contrarian investor, I'm also very interested in issues commonly referred to as "dividend aristocrats" -- that is, companies that regularly increase their dividends over a long period of time. For one thing, I love income. (I mean, who the hell doesn't!!?) And I especially love income taxed at 23.8% instead of the 37% rate imposed on salary, commission, and fee income. (That's like getting a 35+% discount on your tax bill!)

Having said that, the reason I like raising cash in uncertain times like this is that when I have cash, I have options! Although none of us knows when the next big panicked sell-off, financial crisis, or vicious bear market will occur, we know that one of these days it will. History shows that quite conclusively. When the next really attractive buying opportunity comes along, I plan to do what I usually do -- cost average over time with multiple tranches of commitment, and then plan to own for a long time. And I mean twenty or thirty years; not two or three.

It could be one or two -- or for that matter, three of four (or more) years before such juicy opportunities present themselves, but that's OK. I'm very patient. Like a vulture sitting atop a telephone pole, waiting for something to weaken and look like it's ready to fall over dead.

CM...wtf you doing slumming in this neighborhood? Don't you know the only cash position these Trump lovers have are the coins in their piggy bank!

ExxonMobil fall under your dividend aristocrat .... please tell me you're not considering it.

I like a mid stream.... EPD.

Maybe Biden will start a war with Putin and drive up the price of all energy stocks!

WTF - Putin and Xi have purchased the Bidens lock stock and barel - in their plan to control Amerika.

They do not want a war - when Biden will hand them the country for a measly couple of billion $ in his and hunter's pockets.

Count harris in on 'teh' take, also.

Bidenand Lizzie as Treasury Secy are looking at how to confiscate wealth from Amricans.

Holding cash may be foolish when they come for your assets with Asset taxes.

And - Lizzie will - she believes in impoverishing all of Amerika.
