She asked if these things would be effective as special offers, not as permanent changes. We have given honest answers that yes, sometimes a change in rate can have a positive effect. So can other things. This is far different than someone opening a thread and just telling the ladies what to do. The only post here that is not polite and responsive is yours. Why is that?

To answer the question with my own thoughts and observations is that "specials" mean that there is a group of guys who will only see you at "special" time. We have an economically more diverse group of hobbyists now that we have thousands currently viewing the site. It's a lot different than when I found ASPD and TER on the Internet many moons ago.

I agree...you do. We all know that specials are not a new idea coming to the ECCIE board. We are ALL tired of price threads and gents telling us how to run our business. However, the kinds of specials that are most paid attention to was a legitimate question and didn't really have to do with what the costs are.....just what generates more interest. In any business, there are those who only shop bargans. Part of doing business. But, it can only take a few new, regular customers to make it all worth while. And, if a guy only hobbies when its a bargan to him, so? As long as he is not an ass, so what? He got what he wants, she got what she wants. Someone can be a jurk no matter what they pay just like there are plenty of nice guys who just hobby when they get the best value for their doller.

Its how they behave that is the issue, not how much they pay. Criticize the behavor that is not desired instead of just lumping people together. There is nothing wrong with being a bargan hunter. Being an ass about it is totaly different.

Let me be perfectly clear (oh, shit the ghost of Nixon) providers should charge what they want, the market will tell them if they are priced right. That said, I do look for specials, especially (is that redundant?) price reductions on providers I would like to see but are out of my physiological price range.

Here is where I get into Provider Hell, in my experience I find little (in fact no) difference in the HPH and the $$ provider, maybe youth and looks but BCD the bang to hipe ratio is all out of wrack. So, yes if I am enamored with a $$$ provider that drops into my blue collar range, as the Billionaire Russian Gangster says on the TV commercial says "I jump in it".

For the OP and the other ladies, do specials work? There is a provider from Houston that comes to Dallas on occasion to collect her payment on my second mortgage. When you coming to collect Reese?

Actually specials do not determine who I see. I see the lady that I am currently enamored with the most. If she has a special, great, if not and she is in my price range, I will see her. I might only see her for an hour as oppposed to a longer time if she has a special, but that's just the economics at work.

If a lady were to have a special I would like more time. To me an hour with a quality lady just isn't enough. Being on a budget means that it usually has to do.

I play rarely and when I do I usually have someone particular that I want to see. My calendar is also difficult which means that I can't just drop everything when a special comes along. Now if there are several ladies that I want to see and one of them has a special, that might be a deciding factor. But I cannot honestly say that anyone's special has ever moved me to go out and play when I had not planned on it.

Location is more important than cost, but the special rate brings you front and center, both with awareness and savings, assuming all things equal.

Where's Tara's special? I'm ready right now...literally!
