Ladies, Do you really think this makes a difference?

I'm not really sure that discounts even matter to most.

When I do get the opportunity to offer them…they are pretty significant amounts off of my regular rates and several gentlemen who claim interest in meeting me, still do not schedule.

I appreciate the guys who take advantage of the "specials" I offer. It gives me a chance to meet someone whom I might not have had the opportunity to meet.

So… whether its $10 or $100 off….gentlemen are going to see who they want to see. Originally Posted by Reese Foster

In my experience, higher rate = true gentlemen. Someone I considered a gentlemen (met him before) canceled last minute today on a multi-hr appt. Now, I'm a reasonable and patient person, but this makes the third weekend in a row that he did this, so now I am thinking to myself that he made me a plan B or it was just some sinister deliberate act, which I alway save for a last thought.

Anyway, thank God for the gentlemen who understand we are real people and what they do really does affect us.

Katrina,

I think you may have mistaken me for someone else. I don't recall responding to a lot of your posts or making many posts about you.

But no one deserves to be trolled online so I went back and did searches to make sure I wasn't being overly harsh. I searched the forums where I was most likely to respond to you or make a comment about you, and while the searches may have missed something, this is what I found:

Reviews: since late Aug. 2013, I've commented on two of your reviews: 1) April 28, 2014, I commented that Poppy71 wasn't going to like the review that a guy did; 2) Sept 2013, I commented that ever since you posted that you liked COF, that I've wanted to paint your face.

ISO (since late last year): I recommended you to a guy who was looking for a provider who would dominant him

co-ed (since Oct 2013); 1) April 23, 2014 - in response to your comment about cops going through with a session, I stated that I had heard of males cops doing it, but not heard of females cops giving a BJ and then arresting the guy; 2) Oct. 13, 2013 - in response to your comment about a TV show that glamorized this business, I asked tongue-in-cheek "But don't you think this is a fun and great job"; 3) Oct. 1 -- you mentioned you didn't mind facials if it was at your incall and I responded that I would like to paint your face

Granted, search may have missed some. But I don't recall making a lot of responses to you. Originally Posted by BFCjosh

Admittedly I know nothing about the ins and outs of how a provider costs out her services. But I think the market should be the final arbiter.

If she's insane enough and overcome with GPS then the market will sort that out.

In the end I think it all rights itself.

Charge what you think works best for you and alter it one way or the other if necessary until you hit that sustainable price point. And I'll pay what I can afford, and see who I can afford. It ain't that complicated.

These discussions are funny to watch unfold on here from time to time regarding pricing elasticity of demand and it's effects on total revenues, more specifically in this case analyzing cross elasticity of demand subsequent to a $10 discount. I too have wondered whether providers are operating at the point of unit elasticity on the demand curve but as Citizen44 has discovered, it's hard to have a discussion on the subject no matter how fascinating one might find it.

Maybe we should get back to talking about fried chicken, taint, and where the good places to stay in Houston are located? How bout that jadaveon clowney fella?

What this thread has driven home is that most of us guys think of maximizing revenue and minimizing retirement age. Others are solving for a minimum acceptable level of income that minimizes hours worked and maximizes leisure time. Having been married I should already have known this and not even bothered.
"Others" meaning women? Wow. I mean, I'm such a lazy woman, it took me FOREVER to figure out your clever code there. Just because you say "us guys" and then "others" instead of actually using the word "women" doesn't mask your misogyny.

Now you ARE being presumptuous. Just because I don't talk about my retirement fund doesn't mean I don't have one. I have a suspicion that my retirement fund is better funded than most my age. I was willing to intellectually engage with you on this subject until that last post, which was just rude, and purposefully so. I'm so sorry if a woman not bowing to your almighty wisdom and doing as you command offends you so much that you must insinuate that we are all fools, but you should really ask yourself why my abundance of leisure time bothers you so much. We appreciate your concern, but I think those of us whom you are targeting are doing just fine. We are not the ones in Co-Ed begging for handouts for our kids/car/bail/etc. all the time. If you want to offer THOSE ladies advice, feel free to do so, as they might actually need it. And the day you see me go begging, feel free to tell me you told me so.

Get out of the peak of the bell curve of competition. You can grandfather clients that you like in at your old rate. Your clients will be better, and you can read that to mean clients better than you. And you will get more multi-hour clients.

I took clients that I didn’t particularly care for, but if you were a repeat client that saw me pretty much once a month (I had many clients like that.) and you represented an annual revenue of $4,200 I’d put up with your and your shit. In other words, if what I made off of you I could pay my annual spend on health or auto insurance, I could pretend to like someone like you. Similar to how you pretend to like working girls but deep down consider all women whores – you know like your ex-wife.

I had, and still do, have an enormous of leisure time, but I can assure, I wasn’t in the habit of turning down clients. I just worked smarter not harder. Maybe you should take a leaf from our book.

Remember this quote?

Just because I charge more than someone else doesn't mean I think I'm better. Shame on you for trying to shame me. Originally Posted by CarolineDavenport

You are right about one thing. Me putting "others" earlier was a cop out. Where you are wrong is that I was not generalizing about women, I was just trying to be polite and not name you specifically. Consider the mistake corrected.

I have no problem with women charging what they wish. I have my budget and make exceptions every now and then. I've been around long enough to know what I want and what I'm willing to pay.
This thread has wandered into another dead horse beating. Carry on folks.....
