In post #8 I answered a post claiming the democrats had many chances to repeal the Patriot Act. Not let it expire or change it (I'm sure you know "change" and "amend" are basically the same thing and that "repeal" means something completely different).

On top of that dickbreath, I asked to be reminded when the democrats had a congress that could over-ride a veto or stop a filibuster.

The answer to that question is they didn't during the Patriot Act timeframe.

Chances are those same independents would have voted to repeal but none the less the ACA was infinitely more important to Obama and the Dems than the Patriot Act. If the Senate Dems had wanted the Patriot Act to expire they could have simply told Obama they would pass the ACA(since they had the votes) as soon as it did expire or he promised them that he wouldn't extend it.(of course no one in Congress would have trusted him on his promise) At any rate the Dems had the card and chose not to play it. In my mind that's the same as refusing to repeal it.
