Now that In-N-Out is here, we really do need White Castle. If you've never tried it - at an actual White Castle - you've missed out. Nothing is better for a late night snack.

General Sherman, circumference 102.6 ft - height 275 ft

I suspect Simon is one of those Texans still holding on to the claim everything is bigger and better in Texas. Some folks have just never seen real trees, just the local shrubbery. lol

A short summer fling, I swear.
If any of you burger freaks find yourself in the San Fernando Valley area in CA. A must try is off the 5 and Burbank Blvd. Tommy's Original is insane, dirt cheap, open 24/7, only make one thing. The best chili burgers Originally Posted by rockerrick

Totally agree with Wendii! I have a few friends from Cali that, for several years have been talking shit about how Texans dont know what a good burger is, and that In-n-out blows everything else away. When they opened a store in Austin and I was there on business, I had to try it. Not only was I not impressed, but I had to get a few of my buddies from Cali on the phone just to ask them "Are you fuckin kidding me with this shit?"
No way in hell do they come close to a properly executed Whataburger! I'm in the food biz and I am extremely picky when it comes to it, especially fast food. As bad as it is for you, you have to allow yourself to indulge once in a while, and where fast food burgers are concerned, nobody comes close to WB- IMO. Their fries suck though!!!
Oh and BTW, I always give ANY restaurant a second, sometimes even a third chance, especially if there's that much hype over it. Since I was going to be in Austin for a few days, I did just that, and I was still not impressed.
I have to mention the other ongoing argument between my Cali friends and myself is Tex-Mex vs. Cali-Mex food, but that's a story for another time!! Originally Posted by snoogins70

White castle-- you better like onions. They boil their hamburgers in onions. ( can't stand onions, if you get rid of onions ok at 3 a.m.
